    Last time, I removed the FI system. I'm thinking this was a slower way to go. Maybe remove the FI distrib's, and bungy them to the intake manifolds and leave all of the injector tubes assembled during the service.

    Anyone have any opinions? I figure either way, the job gets done, but if I'm spending 2 hours+ to RnR all that hardware unnecessarily, it's worth asking the question.

    Not sure what hardware you refer to. When they were sort of new cars and we serviced them regularly it was pretty SOP to disconnect injector lines from injectors, disconnect input and return hoses at the distributor, remove 3 mounting bolts and lift the entire unit out with injector lines attached. It doesn't take long and from memory was easiest way. I think unbolting them and tying them up to manifolds risks kinking injector lines, scratching manifolds and still does not really get them out of the way.
    If you want simple service there are always electric cars.
    Disconnecting 12 injector lines from the nozzles is a 15 minute job or less.

    I've seen a pic of fuel distrib's left attached and wondered if it was some sort of standard practice.

    Electric cars are not simple... I still can't find the fuel pump! :rolleyes:

    Seriously, I'll spend the time & money to respect the machinery. Always have.

    Possibly factory pictures. All the CIS cars engines went through their dyno run then the fuel distributors were left connected and tied to the engine and left that way to be installed in the chassis.
