Saw this on the Fchat for sale ad, I have not seen anyone post a BB type of black paint below the waste line before, although I recall an old thread photshopping some car to see how it would look. I don't think people thought the proportions worked.

In this real case, I think it Image Unavailable, Please Login looks pretty good, at least with the hardtop and silver contrast (and the Gotti wheels too).

Not sure I would do it, what do others think?

The Gotti wheels suck. Other than that its good.

Black lower part is often done to hide the repair work on the lower rusty door panels.

I always thought the black on the flying buttresses look good on these cars no matter what color they were.

Did they only do that the first year. I don't remember

I too prefer the OEM wheels which define Ferrari's of that era. At least the Gotti's are period correct aftermarket, and were really expensive in their day.

I don't think I've ever seen on Mondial coupe without the black flying buttresses, I'm pretty sure they're all that way, it's one of the parts of the design of this vehicle that I do not find attractive, perhaps with a black car they blend in better.

I also never liked the body colored A pillars on the 84 onward 308's. I prefer them black.

A number of years ago I saved a pic of a Mondial coupe with the flying buttresses and lower body painted red to match the car. The opposite effect of the car shown by the OP. Interesting to see what is possible. Image Unavailable, Please Login
