Paint and chairs look great....im sure the mechanicals will need some big money if you plan on driving it. Does anyone know if that is the correct badging on the car ? Radio, and speaker? Im wondering for an 84 why they say 6,500 miles, when the car was Kilometer car?
Correct badging? Looks right to me. The raido and EQ are also correct for an 84 as are the door speakers. Its missing a muffler hanger on one of the side cans.
Good day Everyone, Indeed, the car looks pretty good. However, BigRed May be right with regards to the mechanicals... Check out the pic that shows the Vin on the rear chassis member. Look closely at the resonator mounting bracket...it appears to be missing a securing nut... Cheers, Sam Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hey man .........those nuts just rattle off! I was just in MO, but of course short the $100K + they are looking for here! Wilhoit is in Springfield as well, he may know these guys..
as you note Mark, '77s would be carbed BB's ...and an '88 would be a TR! LOL! ...typos man, you know how it goes when you let your assistant do these things! They cut the DOT square lights in low in the 'glass, and left the round ones....easy fix there.......
No they dont rattle off, its a rubber isolator with a nut on either side, I was left off. Looks nice though.
Looks like a very nice well kept car to me! Strange, no pics of the engine, but I’ll bet it looks as good as the rest of the car. 6500 miles, or kilometers? Either way low mileage. Replace the missing nut, slap on some new belts, and Go! Looks good with the black bottom!
Just got off the phone with them..its listed in Dupont online for 135..he said they just turned down 130 ...

Looks like a keeper as it is original owner car.. Now if it was a 52000 serial and triple black I might make a move on it... Just like this one!!!!! http://www.mtv.com/overdrive/?vid=99038&artist=1129
Is it really worth that much? When I look at that muffler shot and look further in it looks like a fairly rusty exhaust system. Yes it can be blasted and painted to look new again but it hasnt been. What about the suspension, are the arms still gold cad or faded? Bushings? Calipers? Do they look like new? Michael, do you have pics of your suspension to show us how clean it was? just wondering what an ultra low k car looks like to compare to other boxers. if they get $135k for it great!
Like i always say....so many of these cars are just nice paint with chairs, but has potential if its a correct car which this seems to be. But if it becomes a driver, you gotta think....new bushings, out of engine with all the toys including all the wires, hoses are now 23 yrs old if orginal, need to be done, caps, maybe suspension work...ball joints and control arms just form sitting...you would need to add 15k worth of work ontop to get her to run right. There is no way you can run that baby if the clock is right on that.
The Boxer market spread is intersting. The drivers, seem to be priced around 70/75K+/- - This is for non-salvage working cars. The better cars, with documentation, few # of owners, low miles/km, updated services, and everything included with the car, are listed anywhere from 100-150K. That is a big spread between the bottom and the top cars. It is difficult to gauge, where your car actually fits into the spread.
considering the cost of restoration, a perfect car at 150 is a bargain. my car is a very nice driver, decent paint, original interior with "patina" (nice word for 30 years old) mechanically sound, 24,000 mile car...but far from platinum... estimates to restor range from 80,000 to 300,000 (bob smith coachworks) so any way you look at if you want a perfect car, it's cheaper to get it rather than restore. On the other hand, at half price, I have a really nice boxer that I can actually DRIVE...
