SportAuto has a 1986 328 red w/ Boxer black. I have never seen one in person, but from the pictures it looks as though the bottom black portion of the car just disappears as you look down. Almost as if it has been erased - so to speak.

I was wondering if this effect happens in person when looking at the car or is it just the pictures.

I know the Boxer paint for 328s were not common, but they were that way from the factory - right?

I would be interested to know everyone else's thoughts on that paint style for a 328.

    thanks

It's hard to tell from the pictures alone, but it does look in great shape. I think the color could grow on me. If I was in the market, I would consider it.

I believe that starting with the 308QV models, the boxer paint scheme was no longer available from the factory. This 328's paint is most likely aftermarket.
That said, I like it too! The 308s I have seen with this finish look great in person. The black paint is a matte finish, and makes the car look lower and sleeker, IMHO. -m

I am fairly certain the boxer paint scheme was never an official option on 328s

Hmm, i thought the boxer paint scheme -was- available on QV's, and on very early 328s...wouldn't know for sure about the 328s, have to scope it out on the web and in documentation from the time period...

I do agree it makes the car appear to have a more aggressive stance. I like it in that respect. I just keep going back and forth from the pictures.

I have seen this paint on BB512s and think it looks great.

I guess I am just not used to seeing it on 328s. I will attempt to attach a photo...
