That is not correct for a Boxer from what I have been told by Bo Pirkle who is one of the best Ferrari paint specialist there is. He says that back when the Boxer was made there was only one Glasurit Rosso Corso used on a Boxer and it was FER 300. The FER 300/6 and other Rosso Corso shades came out after the Boxer. I know on my BB512i the Glasurit paint sticker it had on it when I first got it was FER 300 with no / shade. Plus, you can get those labels from www.italiancarparts.com anyway.

I have seen other Boxers with original beat up 300/6 code labels.

My Ferrari "factory invoice" dated April 22, 1983 lists my Boxer as
colour: ROSSO FER 300/6 = without black bottom.

But, that repro label is probably not totally correct since it has the code as: Rosso CORSA 300/6.

The "Corsa" part is probably incorrect on that label.

    Sorry.

Boxer owners: If your car has it's original paint code label, please post a picture.

    Thanks!

I will set Bo straight with a copy of your factory invoice. Does anyone know if you can obtain a copy of the factory invoice from Ferrari or the original selling dealer?

I have reproduction Glasurit decals as well, however the original Boxer paint decals I've seen don't have the "aluminum foil" around the outside, they are white. Now I've seen many of the original decals with the "aluminum" and without, I think it depended on what they had at the time.

    Kevin,
If I remember correctly, the color code (ROSSO FER 300) was hand written on the label. I beleive this is an original label but maybe other Boxer owners could check if that is the case with theirs?

For those of you with carbed Boxers, the Ferrari racing red changed around 1980. Prior to this time, the bright racing red was Rosso Chiaro, code 20-R-190 Glidden Salchi. This color has a little more orange in it than its replacement, which was called Rosso Corsa and is being referred to in the above posts. Since all injected Boxers were post-1981, they were probably all Rosso Corsa.
