Neez will make these wheels in forged aluminum instead of Magnesium if we can get 10 orders together. Any takers? I got an e-mail from EisenHaus today with this offer. Price to be discussed. We would have to agree on size of course.

what would be the price for 17x8 and 17x10? i would assume the proper offset so as to fit within the fender lips. i would also assume the same sizes must be ordered by all of us in order to pay for the short production run.

I will email EisenHaus and see if I can get an estimate. Surely it will be significantly less than the mag version!

    Way to go Robert!
    Get a price.
Anything reasonable and I'll go for it.
    17-8, or 8 1/2, and 17-10 would be good.
Can anyone suggest a good tire to fit these size wheels?

I am in for a set in 17x8 or 8.5 and 17x10. I would say 235/45 fronts and 255 or 265x40 rears. One could even go to 245's for the front. My car currently has 16in wheels with 245's on front and 255's on rear, the Difference to stock tires is so huge it defies description.

Of course one could also go for brakes and shocks, then its motor time. an efi system and itll be bybybe to any stray 360 you find.

    great post...

i actually have just purchased a tec3 system that i have still not decided to use yet. bill pollard at sport auto says it REALLY wakes up a boxer. put on some big brembos, ap's or alcons ( i like ap) with some fat non metric wheels and rubber and i will be freeking out!!

btw, the efi system w/ 12 velocity stacks would be hot as hell!

Just a thought, the forza issue with the killer BB sporting the turbo TR engine has boyd coddington wheels on it, they look just smashing. Why not contact him, im sure he could spin off a batch to our liking.

That sounds like the hot ticket, I think you should go for it Peter!

Get a cam regrind from webcam as well and you'll be able to keep up with my carbed BB:), should sound outrageous as well.

I am on the fence concerning these wheels as I like the classic deep dish look of the OEM 15" wheels, I may go to a race rubber as they have a stiffer sidewall vs regular tires.

armen had the boyd wheels made for his car. boyd has made severeal sets that i know off.

i however am not interested in the boyd wheels as they do not look factory as the neez wheels do. if i do the neez wheels, i will have them painted to match factory finish.

personally, i think yhe factory look is best but i think we all agree that the tire selection is lousy. i will get new wheels to put my metrics on the shelf.

stock appearance w/ a wider look in the rear is what im after cosmetically.

Gary, I believe its issue 37. cool car and the rims make it look amazing, so fat on the rear and still fit under the fender lip (apparently with minor modifications).

Boyd coddington emailed me back, $2500/rim. Too much. The Neez wheels were the same cost and of course I would buy them over the coddington ones but $10K is too much for 4 rims, Ill pass. I can buy lots of sets of TRX tires for that price and seeing as how I dont track the car, the handling difference with the stock appearance in an 18" isnt worth it.

For those that have the 15" wheels on the carb Boxers, Hoosier makes a race tire in both bias ply and radial 275/60/15 for rears and 225/60/15 for the fronts that is a solid blackwall. These tires are for vintage racing and are far superior to any alternatives such as a BFG radial T/A or Dunlop GT Qualifier street tire as they are made for high speed and have a stiffer side wall, they are also reasonable at around $150 per tire, this is what I am going to use on my BB.

These tires should add the finishing touch to my car as I have new Konis along with Eibach race springs and ulta light BBLM race calipers and drilled rotors, watch out 360s.

The draw backs on these tires is they puncture easier and wear faster but who cares as most Boxers are not driven more than a few thousand miles per year, the bias ply don't have the steel belts that can damage bodywork if the tire goes so I am going with them.

I got a set of coddington wheels from armen that he had on his boxer. Mine are 16's with 245's on the front and 255's on the rear. The difference in handling is so huge that it simply defies description. I have had no problem staying with a 360 on the street and track.
