Did all Boxers come from the factory with KPH speedometers or were the ones that went to the UK and other MPH countries originally fitted with MPH ones? My BB512i was originally a Belgium spec car and I assume Belgium uses KPH rather than MPH.

I think the US DOT conversion involved changing the face plate only.

    Odo was left in km...........

Is your speedo still in Km?

My understanding is that there was a factory MPH speedometer. I think Ferrari UK could speak authoritatively on this.

I wonder what was in the cars which were ordered for the US. There were a fair number of cars ordered by US buyers, to be immediately converted. Could they have ordered an MPH speedometer?

Incidentally, my speedo is still KM, and I have no plans to change it. I figure it's part of the exotic nature of the car now!

BB and BBi speedos are slightly different so I haven't checked BBis, BBs have a choke light but I see no option at Ferrari UK concerning a km vs a mile speedo odometer, unless a speedo shop converted the odometer to miles I would think they would be in kms.

My speedo is in MPH, but I have never checked to see if the odometer was still in KPH. I will note mile marker signs when I drive her this weekend to see. My car was originally sold new by Ferrari Francorchamps to the American importer Trend Auto to be brought to the USA and converted. I did note on the Ferrari UK web site that they do offer both KPH and MPH speedos for a BB512i. What countries beside the USA and UK use MPH anyway?

I also believe that the factory offered a MPH speedo, because my car was purchased brand new from the factory and then air shipped directly to AmeriSpec in the USA for federalization.

I have the complete check list of all the work that AmeriSpec did to the car and there is no mention of any speedometer change out.

    My odometer is KMs too.

I was ordering some parts today and asked about the speedo, Ferrari did offer a MPH speedo for Boxers it was for the GB market, it also had an odometer in miles, the only way to tell is a sticker placed on the speedo on the outside as some were just converted in the face plates only as the RHD GB cars are very rare.

My BBi has the speedo in Km/h and the odometer in Km's as well. I have seen the speedo in MPH, but I have not seen an odometer in Miles.

Mine has the spedo in miles and the odo in km's Caused quite a stir with the insurance company a few years back when I exceeded allowed mileage in a year, but based on km conversion was under allowed limit.

When I bought my Boxer, I sent my speedo to Palo Alto Speedometer to change it to miles/mph. Both my speedometer and odometer are correct (in mph and miles). They also provide a statement as to what the mileage (and units) were when they rebuilt the speedo, so it can be shown to any future owner concerned about the change.

My speedo and odometer are in KM's.
I read that the KPH speedo cars are bit faster than the MPH cars...
They used a really heavy MPH sticker on the faceplate:D

Early, for a good spot! LOL! Doesn't matter, my gf will have me out on the floor!

I have some great pics of Dave and I, from the Green Room last time he was here, mingling with us locals...He's such a real world guy...just amazingly low key.

He helped my friend Amy Farris with her solo album, stepping out from behind Kelly Willis......

Sean Reefer and the Resin Valley boys will warm the crowd up...LOL!
