Are Boxer clocks hard to find ? The 365bb clock works fine, the 512bb one does not. Can they be sent out for repair ? Did owners ever disconnect them to spare battery drainage ?

Anyone have anything on this? I'm reading all 214 pages of BB and BBi threads, this is the first question I've had.

I've owned my BBI for over 30 years, I've never had battery drainage issue from the clock, never even thought about it.

My clock works, but it can't be set as someone stripped the gears. My 308 clock works and keeps perfect time. Neither do I worry about draining the battery.

Yes, my clock also is perfect. What about clocks that need service? For instance, I've seen a number of BBs and BBis with the stem broken off on the clock. Can anyone fix this without replacing the entire clock? Finding clocks for these cars is nearly impossible.

I had to make a gear to set my clock. It cracks, and won't engage the shaft. There's a clock expert on F-chat. Anybody recall his name?

Most electro-mechanical clocks of that era only use power when they wind. They don't typically run on battery. It's a tiny amount of power drawn. Clock in my 512BB doesn't work either...

That's a bummer. In addition to skill working these clocks, he could source parts. I had a clock with a bad drive (motor, supporting circuitry etc), and he was able to identify which version and had components.

Maybe find another clock to get parts? Look at other cars, fiat etc?
