Even though mine is red, I LOVE a silver Boxer. But, I can't believe so many owners leave those ugly side marker lamps on their cars. The car looks so much cleaner and better without them.

    frank,

it's funny you say that...it was the very first comment i made...i do not know why they do not rid themselves of those ugly side markers!

i actually met the gentleman that owns the metallic grey carb car pictured near the bottom (w/ bonnet opened) while i was out doing a training ride on my cycle. i heard the car coming down the road and knew it had to be somthing good...sure enough a boxer!!

what a thrill as even as i am an owner...you never see them on the road.

i flagged him down and yelled that "i had an 83" ...he turned around and we chatted for a while.

it is clear that boxer owners love to meet others as it seems to be a small fraternity!

    thanks for the pics gary.

Get that 360 away from that boxer!! No way should one of those be parked next to a legend :)

    Great pics,

I didn't make it to CI as I arrived Saturday morning.

The only Boxer I saw was at the auction, it was very dissappointing not seeing even 1 on the road and I was looking specifically for one in action.

Every other exotic car was a 360 or 355 or a Merci or Diablo.

I heard about a Boxer (in fair condition) selling at one of the auctions for around $81K. Do you know which auction?

Russo & Steele also had an all black one (VIN #45123) at their auction. I never saw it, but by the description in their brochure, it sounded pretty nice.

    It sold for $89.1K

    John,

I never saw the owner, so I don't know much about the car.

The entry form on the dash was marked "365" Boxer, but the car had four tail lights (512) and four exhaust pipes instead of six (365).

Yes, I posted in this forum under 512BBi sold at auction in Monterey. It was the RM auction. It was actually very nice with a few issues that I saw, looked beautiful driving down the street with big crowds around it.

If any of you collect Boxer Telaio (serial numbers), I believe I got them all.

    Gary,

Looking at the link you gave that is the car, RM and Russo and Steele must be the same co?

The final bid was $81k the $89k selling price must have included buyers premium.

The biggest issue I saw was the paint looked very thick and was not as smooth as it should be, I also saw ripples in a few spots and the hood, the turn signal lenses were not flush either.

Boxers must be appreciating from the Euro as this car sold for $89k a nicer car should sell for $100k.

Nope, they are two different auctions. The RM auction was at the Portola Plaza Hotel (old Doubletree) and the Russo & Steel auction was at the Marriott Hotel nearby.

Looking at the RM website, I do not see any auction results for a Boxer over the weekend. Don't know why....

This one was Russo and Steele since it was the Mariott, it definately was the Boxer in the brochure, everything is the same with the car, the yellow fog lights, exhaust mods (car sounded great), miles and color.

I did not see a Boxer in the RM auction car storage area.

So I had the auctions mixed up.

Interesting to hear here Boxers are getting reasonable aution prices, are these europeans sales? Because even a 355b gets over 100k in England.
Interestingly 288gto's and f40's seem to sell for less there than they do here.

While I think any decent boxer should be over $100k there are two apparently ultra low mileage ones on Ebay that appear to be stuck in the $80k range. Maybee ebay is the wrong place for the rare fcars, or possibly there are long starage related issues that require$.

I wonder what type of prices the classic car dealers are getting. Any thoughts?

    Hi.............

Awesome photos, Gary Reed !!! Great compositions !!!!

Know nothing about the white Boxer. Is it a Koenig car ?? S/N ??

The Fly Yellow 365 of Bachman is an unreal machine !! Could give the "white glove test" to any part on the car.

Only five Boxers at the FCA Concours, but the 365 was there too.

I have a question for all of you Boxer experts out there. In 1982 were the control arms on a Boxer silver cad or gold cad? The ones on my Boxer appear to be silver cad with some gold cad hardware. However, new ones at TRutlands are gold cad, although some used ones there are silver cad. Since Ferrari could have made them both ways depending on the year, I was hoping someone on FC knew which it was in 1982, gold or silver?

I agree . Nice pictures and really expected a lot more Boxers at the event.I do not feel guilty now not going with mine. I plan on going next year and hope to caravan mabey up there with a group of Boxers only. That would be a great site to see.
