+1 on mayweather. i've held a grudge against him ever since the de la hoya fight, which i still believe to this day he lost. it wasn't even all that great of a fight, hatton put up for a while, but just got overrun.
Not a fan of Mayweathers AT ALL! But I saw something in him in this Hatton fight. He just kept turning up the notch when he had to, round by round. He came out to KO hatton in the 10th. And he did just that! I take my hat off to the guy. EVEN THOUGH I STILL DISLIKE HIM!!
+1, I'm not quite sure if De La Hoya should have won, but it certainly looked closer than it was. I've also never liked Floyd's attitude, kinda cocky, then again that's not much different from a lot of other boxers.
Floyd may be cocky, but when you are undefeated I think you have the right to be a little cocky. I wanted Hatton to win because he is like a normal guy.
Well, apparently Mayweather doesn't care much for boxing and that may explain a lot of it. I can certainly relate to having a talent but disliking the situation it puts you in and the people it puts you around. RMX
True, but somewhere down the line that personality WILL come out again. It's in him. But then again, this is my opinion. Not a fan of his.
Just as cocky as Lance Armstrong, deserved, but everyone needs a humbling experience. The attitude adds to the intimidation factor, and I think part of the show.
I met him in Jan of 2006 in a 24 Hour Fitness in NW Vegas... he came in to play basketball and the court was packed. He is just as much a spoiled brat in real life. Still, when you're that good, you can get away with being cocky... it comes with the territory. They mostly act like that because they're incredible insecure... Just look at Mariah Carry or any other "diva" type that is used to having their a$$ wiped all day by everyone.
Back in my Younger days and my very, very, when I say very, short race for a boxing Title, In the gym I want to, there was a world title holder. Since this guy was 8, he had 3 or 4 people around him telling him how great he is and how great he is going to be. If I had that day in and day out, I would think I am the greatest also. Wait I am the greatest.
I was at the fight....pretty much all Hatton fans. they all knew lot's of songs for Hatton, tons of energy.
Mayweather will get a rude awakening if he fights 3 other welterweights out there. Margarito, Cotto(maybe) and Paul Williams. That's why he choses not to fight for a while too.
I was hoping Hatton would win. He is such a great guy and that's why all the people showed up for the fight.
Cotto I think is the strongest there. I have no idea why Calzage keeps getting his name tossed in there too, you notice that on all the pundits' sites? :/ Speaking of brutal whiteboy fighters, where the heck is Pavlik? (wrong weight class I know, but a good fighter) I miss my hometown hero Gerry Cooney
When Pavlik fought Maranda, I was SO amazed. I thought he was unstopable. But when he fought Taylor. He showed ALOT of flaws. In the rematch, I hope the Pavlik who fought Marand comes out in the Taylor rematch. Taylor, In my opinion is OVERRATED. Good, but not great. Come'on Pavlik Retain that title
