I don't know about the cause of death....... Boston was a great group at that time in my life. Still love the album covers
WOW, it's been such a long time since I came to know of this smokin rock n roll band. He will now have more than a feeling, complete peace of mind. He's hitchin a ride..........don't look back, don't be afraid. It's easy, the journey begins. We're ready for a new world. My destination, I think I like it...Party on.
Wow, Boston was the icon of 70's rock & roll. Delp will be missed. Btw, is Boston in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame?
ATKINSON, N.H. -- Brad Delp, the lead singer for Boston, a huge rock sensation in the 1970s, was found dead Friday in his home, police said. He was 55. Atkinson police responded to a call for help at 1:20 p.m. and found Delp dead. Police Lt. William Baldwin said in a statement the death was ''untimely'' and that there was no indication of foul play. Delp apparently was alone at the time of his death, Baldwin said. The cause of his death remained under investigation by the Atkinson police and the New Hampshire Medical Examiner's office. Police said an incident report would not be available until Monday. Delp fronted the rock band, who rose to fame in the late 1970s and had several hits, including ''More than A Feeling.'' The group sold millions of records.
Thanks for the link. Cool tribute page marker. Boston was definitely one of the all-time cornerstone bands. I never felt they could properly replicate their sound live because there was so much studio production on their albums--especially for that era. But their recorded work was unrivaled. RIP.
The guy was home alone, healthy individual, no foul play. It would certainly suggest a possible suicide.(he didn't seem to have had a troubled past however) They did get a call at 1:20 PM so maybe it was a heart attack or something after eating? Nothing in the news yet saying what it was. I wonder if there are any other clues in the news articles that would suggest one thing or another? IMO they know what it was but aren't saying just yet.
Truly sad...RIP. Have Boston I on 8-track (!), cassette, vinyl and CD...what a masterpiece. Don't Look Back's A Man I'll Never Be one of the all time great epic vocals.
I saw Boston from the 3rd row at USF in Tampa Florida. I'm going to guess 1988-89? Back in-the-day (when standing in line for 3 days) could get a few college buddies, some front row tickets. Wow! what a concert! Fantastic band! RIP - Brad Delp
Sad news...Boston came along a few years after my rock music era, but IMO "More Than A Feeling" is one of the greatest single rock songs ever.
