    Just a detail but make sure that the frost plugs are painted black after installation. They are supposed to go the colour of the block as they were installed by the factory prior to installation.

    Were the wheels painted metallic originally or staight silver like the cromodoras?
    Also, block was black, not silver?

    @ synchro, see post 286 for paint code. Can you confirm that the wheels were orig painted metallic silver or semi gloss nonmetallic silver?

    We plan to touch up the block after we get the rotating assembly installed and heads on. Did you guys have any trouble pulling out your plugs? These were a nightmare.

    Original paint was a single stage so it would have no clear. The paint code shown on the can is not complete. I will post the full paint code shortly.

    Generally Iron blocks are paint black. Silver is normally raw cast aluminum not painted.

    I have been told that removing these plugs can be hellish but we got lucky and it was not too bad.
