The owner provided it from Reoriginals. Normally we go custom because kits seem to never fit. This one only needed one section modified.
I have always loved the GT4! I don't know who the owner of this car is, but all I can say is BRAVO! This is Awesome! What a great thread!
Can we get a peak at the engine bits? Will there be a dyno test in this budding 100 pointer's future? Kudos to all involved!
Of course. It has multiple old leaks we had to clean off. She ran for an hour and we will check back in a few days to find the leak sources.

Im really becoming a fan of the GT4, its really a sharp design. And from what i see on the net, very inexpensive to purchase. Let me know Jay how it turned out, maybe i'll get one and send it to Dan for the same treatment. It looks like a Muscle car, itlaian style. i mean, just look at it. Very nice! plus it makes for a very cool track car! With its purchase and service, could you be under 50k with it? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Ted- Well you know what they say about "Cheap" Ferraris... The GT4 hunt started for me out of necessity. I had a 308gtb and a 328gts and liked both- but I was very, very uncomfortable in them- I'm 6'3'. I had heard the GT4 offered more interior room but of course they were the "poor man's" Ferrari. My 355 fits me nicely, but I wanted a more raw car for some spirited driving. Just on a lark i drove one in Florida while down there on business- and LOVED it. Loved the sound, loved the handling- so balanced- and the car felt meaner and more aggressive than my gtb- so I started looking for a great restored car. No such thing in GT4s.... plenty of very ratty drivers in the low $20Ks, but nothing great. I lucked into this car- 13K on the clock, dead original- no rust- and that's where we are today. I'll be well south of $40K when all is said and done and I thin I'll have one of the best ones in the States. Still will be upside down in the car since the best one on the planet would struggle to bring low $30ks, but it's for me to enjoy, not to resell. Come on over and we'll go for a ride!
If you could have a well sorted, rust and rattle free 308GT4 for under 40k, thats a cheap Ferrari. Ive been searching the typical places on the net, i have found only 2. I need to educate myself on them so i know what to look for. I really like their lines and stance, i'l have to take you up on that offer to see if they ride as good as they look. In the meantime, i'll watch this thread to see how it turns out.
I had the twin to that car. Bought with the intent of making it a dual purpose road & track car. Realized that to get it track ready i would be into 348 Challenge money and sold it. Miss it very much and still wonder if i should have sold the Mondy instead.
I new I liked you, we seem to have a lot in common I'm glad you didn't sell the mondi I'm going to keep one eye open for a clean one, i think I'm smitten with its wedge design and that interior its incredible.
Since I bought this a couple of years ago I've only seen 5 cars enter the market. 3 neglected beaters, one modified horror and one decent driver. The only somewhat restored car was Brettskis 74 euro-spec car that was redone in silver and sold for $37K. I passed on it because I wanted to either get a freshly restored car or a good solid low mileage car and restore enough of it to look clean and fresh. I like the bodylines on these cars and so many of them look like hell- unlike the Gtbs that are all red and shiny. Most of the GT4s you see come up are of the Gullwing/Beverly Hills Car Club variety. I cannot imagine that these will not increase in value at some point, but we've been saying that in the 400/412 forum for an eternity....
First start with open headers. We are going to go through the engine and fix the main leaks. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wen-RAq_wmU&list=UUfXu0SFbT4oUfKa0lilOXow&index=1&feature=plcp[/ame] Image Unavailable, Please Login
