Rust repair on the front nose required sanding the full nose to avoid a open clear coat blend. The old clear coat was chipping and there were multiple small rock chips rusting as well. Frozen hardware makes it difficult. We originally were going to just repair a small spot of rust and ended up spraying the nose. You have to stop at some point.

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing. That color seems like it would be hard to match. And what is that color anyway? Rubino? -F
It shouldn't be to difficult we have color matching cameras and other tools to help out. I will post the full process and color code, mix, etc

That wouldn't seem original, the clear coat that is. Is the entire car clear coated or just the nose? I wondered about the same thing. Only 4 good size nuts to take off. Mine came off pretty easy when I "refreshed" the nose. But my car ('85) is kept well. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Two M8-bolts and disconnecting two connectors on my Euro-car. Removal of the grille of course to make things even easier. Best from Germany Martin
Fantastic! Will be nice to see how you guys blend it in. Love seeing these old cars getting refurbished. -F
Chipping clear on the nose I'm sure its had the nose sprayed early in life, I can see tape lines on the edges. Most come over very easy this one is frozen and I've had a bumper bolt spin on me before it was nightmare to repair. Ill leave it alone to avoid a headache we have plenty of room to work.
I have one of these that I need to attack one of these days. Not that bad though. Actually a little rusted when I bought the car new. No one was buying GTBs in '5 so I guess it sat for a while. Ferrari gave me a new one that's been sitting in the garage for 34 years. Never got around to putting it on. Figured I do it when I sold the car.

Not to come off as daft but, Rosso Fer 302, is that metallic red? I didn't know that was an option back then. -F
I thought so too and went to go look at my paint sticker. It's Rosso Corsa Fer 300/6 so I guess Fer is Ferrari. -F
