Looks like someone used them for a friendly game of horseshoes. On pavement.

Why does one wheel look more white in color?

    Looks pre Dow 7 coating

Using a conversion coating like this is the only way to paint these wheels properly

    Nice jog guys. :)

A different process had to be used to get all the paint off. There is Dow 7 on the brighter rim it's just much lighter. I was worried it wasn't coated at first also.

The owner will not believe that these are the same wheels.

Did these wheels come off of a car that was involved in a fire?

This is a great thread which shows the work required to restore these mag wheels properly.

Learning more about these cars each day and lovin these step by step photo guides.

Would love to know the cost of this process vs new wheels if you're happy to share.

    Cheers.

I dont believe there is much Magnesium in the stock wheels. Much higher content in the challenge wheels which is the reason they are much lighter.

Could be wrong but my manual just says they are magnesium. I believe challenge wheels are lighter because the do not have to meet dot regs.

The wheels look great. What is the paint code that you are using on these wheels?
