I think it's best you just call around to shops that repair and refinish wheels and ask if they have experience chemically stripping and refinishing magnesium wheels.

Another option would be to call manufacturer dealerships that sell Magnesium wheels as an option (Porsche primarily) and ask them where to take your "curbed wheels" to get refinished perhaps...

I'm resurrecting this old thread as I've just dropped my wheels off for a full re-furb.

The guy has asked me for the paint code for the wheels, and I see here that Bradan has said "Argento Silverstone" but I can't find any reference to that colour.

Does anyone know what the original factory paint code is for 355 wheels?

    Many thanks.

I believe no one has successfully found the correct paint. The actual color is a proprietary speedline color.
However everybody including Braden seems to use Argentina which is PPG 36520.

I took mine into a paint shop and had them use their camera to try to pull up a color. They gave me a print out I'll go look up what they considered a match.

like I said 36520 is close and everybody uses it but it is definitely not the same color.
I know the site resizes pictures really small, but you should be able to see the difference between OEM speedline and PPG 36520 in this picture

Isn't one of the numbers stamped on the back of the wheel the color code?

A few years ago I had a wheel for one of my other cars that needed some curb rash repaired. When I brought it to a place to have it done, I asked the owner how he will go about obtaining the paint code to match the color - he said all wheels have the color code stamped on the back, he looked over my wheel and he pointed to one of the spokes and said "there it is". When I picked it up it was a perfect match.
