Dan- Your body man really does know what he is doing. Great thread. Have you seen the new Rosso Maranello paint color being introduced on the FF? Might be fun to try something different. Of course, if it were mine, I would go for Giallo Modena. I love yellow Ferraris. Taz Terry Phillips
That is very interesting, quick question though - having straighten up the panel how do you actually fill the holes?
Or, forget the paint, polish the aluminum, and leave her bare.........of course, you might blind everyone else on the road
I was very lucky to hire him. He has a few Cavillino wins under his belt while working at another shop. We were very close to sending the car out of state to have the body work done. It's nice but If I end up going with red it's going to be very deep and vintage looking. For some reason Giallo is my least favorite color on the 550. On the other hand I would kill for a Giallo Daytona.
And IMHO, they did a better job of it clear back in 1991! (apologies for the thread-jack) Image Unavailable, Please Login

TDF is cool. Still trying to work out why you are doing a total strip down and the cost that must be involved must be high! Image Unavailable, Please Login
My 550 needed a top notch paint job. We wanted to run a car through our new restoration department start to finish as a demo.
Dave- It was a great place to be a young Lt and Capt flying F-111s and we enjoyed it. My daughter was born in the Cannon AFB hospital and we bought our first house there. More airspace to use then than just about anywhere. Also a great place to drive Ferraris. Miles of good roads with very light police activity in the 70s. Taz Terry Phillips
Not quite correct Joe. The car was ordered in Porsche Nachtblau (Night blue) by the first owner. So it was Ferrari that painted it that colour, not me. Onno Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
It is indeed metallic and it looks spectacular. Everyone always comments on it. But I'd like it to remain the only one in the world. Onno Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

hmmm...might be worth it if the car is cheap enough. do you think this would really destroy the resale value?
Bradan; how high is the risk in your opinion (and experience) that the front and rear windows will not survive when you remove them?
It was a scary process that everyone said was not possible. Some piano wire and a few hours later all glass was removed without incident. Just find someone willing to take the time to get it out correctly without air tools.
