Excellent work, I am planning to replace the ball joints on my 599 (’08) with Hill engineering parts and I noticed that they recommend using a special adhesive to install them. Can you please explain why the adhesive is needed if the ball joints are going to be pressed in place. Thanks.
Yes even with factory parts you have to use the hysol adhesive. Its not tight enough of a press to hold the bushing in and only has a tiny snap ring to seat the ball joint.
I'm surprised you applied Xpel so soon after painting. It has been my understanding that Xpel (or any PPF for that matter) should only be applied to freshly painted panels after it has dried for at least 30 days. Just curious....
Did you have a lot of play in the original ball joints? could you feel it by shaking the wheel at 12-6 oclock? I had to use a lever to check for play and even then it was barely noticeable, I eventually changed them for HE ones.
