    Thats our plan right now. I removed my 550 gearbox to scan to see if it will physically work before worrying about electronics etc.

    Which transmission did they use for the factory 6-speeds? I would assume it was the same as the manual F430, or the 575/612?

    Advantage to the 550 box is there are so many of them available. The 575/612 is like a unicorn I think?

    Were not at that stage yet, right now were trying to see if its possible then need to actually do it to atleast 1 car without issues before offering it for sale.

    Since there were only a handful of 6MT Calis made, would the factory not have also have borrowed a tranny from an older model? Why not try to duplicate that? I really don't get the sense the factory had invested a great deal to promote the 6MT version, which leads me to suspect they didn't spend a lot of development money on new components.

    If you identify where the existing 6MT Calis were sold and serviced, those dealer garages would likely have useful information. I believe 1 or 2 were UK (probably London) cars.

    I agree I think its a retrofitted gearbox but I've never come across one to look over.

    This is a bottom view with the 550 transmission.

    I know I'm nobody. But the Cali is a V8, right?

    If you want a stick, why not just do an LS swap? Surely you can find an LS or LT with a Tremec that will fit this application. They shoehorn those things into Miatas for crying out loud...
