    I won't even acknowledge such a silly comment, but thank you sharing your opinion we're all entitled to have one -and I hope no one thinks I'm speaking out of arrogance.

    The factory stripe is 100% a sticker decal. Straight from the factory it's covered in fish eyes in the clear above the decal, DA sanding marks on the borders and even solvent pop in some areas. Our goal was to repair a tiny crack correctly and we prayed we could just blow paint over the crack with an exact color match, minimizing the repair area. We got the color match correct but elected to pull the full stripe, reinstall a factory stripe, then clear coat over it.

    When repairing exotic cars, most shops work at a level equal or greater in some cases than the factory using the same exact equipment, paint, etc. If done correctly it’s nearly impossible to tell its been repaired. Especially with Italian cars because as noted above, they come delivered with flaws. I think the perception of diminished value from a repair is associated with a regular insurance fender bender repair, delivered with masking tape and primer overspray. But lets not turn this into a whole debate, I really appreciate everyones opinions and sharing in this thread. Some great input mixed with hysteria.

    Just to close out the color match process this is the best match we could get to the green stripe. We will save these colors to minor chip repairs in the future if anyone can benefit from the leg work please dont hesitate to email [email protected] for the color mix we came up with.

    @BRADAN : can you post the OEM part number you used. Useful for others so they don't inadvertently order a clone rather than original part number.

    This has come at a good time for me as I'm just about to have this done myself after choosing to fit a N-GT carbon front lid with the NACA duct so need a need stripe again :)

    Very nicely done and it is good that you left the OEM paint on the sides to ensure a perfect colour blend to the fenders.

    It appears from the photos that the OEM stripe was applied over the red base before the hood was clear coated and then the entire assembly received its clear. Is this your observation as to how the factory did this job or was the procedure different?

    Exactly. The gray residue is glue from the sticker when we pulled it up.

    Looks great. Lots of work with those stripes, all of those extra steps. I thought you might pull the hood back off to clear it after the stripe was installed.

    Question - Did you bring the clear around the bottom of the hood so you didn't get a thin covering on the edges?
