Fantastic effort. Would it not have made sense to strip the complete shell based on the level of restoration you are doing. I know there are companies in the UK that do surface reprocessing for full body shells that get done on a spit. The obvious issue is costs as every rubber seal and gasket for the panels needs to be replaced. The hardest part in the 355 is the back window (Not to mention a very expensive one if you break it during removal or refit) , but you have no such issue as its a Spider.
To really get it to a bare shell its a few more weeks of work. The bottom of the car is fine and mostly rust free so we are only doing the exterior.
