The F355 Berlinetta and GTS have a common crack area on the 1/4 panel, this is caused by flexing between two panels. We dig all the material out the crack and prep it for welding. Welding will reduce the flex between the whole panels, hopefully resolving the cracked paint issue. We used a technique called back purging which uses the same 100 percent mixture of argon gas as a shielding gas on the back side of the weld to avoid corrosion from mixing with oxygen during welding. Remember, corrosion protection is very important when doing any welding on the body. Corrosion on the back side of the weld will cause a failure.
