I didn't like how the prior primer dried so we started over. The surface was wiped with BASF 2000 metal prep wipes. Its a pre saturated wipe for aluminum and magnesium. It applies a phosphate coating to enhance adhesion and corrosion resistance. Followed by Glasurit 801-703 zinc chromite primer sprayed with a Sata 100 B F HVLP primer gun. Glasurit 801 has excellent corrosion protection, outstanding adhesion, and good solvent resistance. We love it.
