YIkes. The wiring for the stereo is bad enough throw in a critter and that could have been very expensive. You really need to take the in between photos of this process. It may be the single biggest mess I have ever made in my garage. You make it look too easy. Having "been there - done that" You may wish to share with your listeners the price of those e-brake bolts.
Same problem with mine - rusted bearing - seized up on mine. Did you guys change the bearing? This is what I had to deal with: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Egads. How did it get that nasty? The heat exchanger leak on it? Curious as I am not at home...Can a guy get some lube on that bearing in situ?
I'm thinking of doing youtube videos on things like water pumps, axles, timing motors. Trying to explain it even with photos get difficult. Sickening cost on the bolts! and what a pain in the ass to get them out when broken.
I was able to clean, grease, and reassemble but I've seen a few fall apart when you pull it off the spindle.
Mine resulted in a seize and stuck open throttle 500 feet up the road from my house. Had to push the car home but it's down hill - once I hit the hill, just rolled all the way home (almost ran myself over with the car though ) Not easy to get at but yes, you can do it. Yep - I actually think it should be a bronze bearing and not a needle bearing. It's like a $6.00 bearing so easy to replace. Bearing P/N's (Ferrari and OEM INA inside this document)
Interior trim back from sticky no more and assembled. A used HVAC panel was sourced from Ferr parts to replace a broken panel. Yeah, I know daily drivers face the wrath of the road salt and succumb to rust and rot. But most well cared for cars will never see any rust if stored properly and not driven in the rain.
It’s lid loosens and it can leak power steering fluid. Which you don’t want! I updated mine for piece of mind.
