Are the e-brake bolts a preventable break? Or are they all so fragile that this should be expected when disassembling them? Seems as though it would be a perfect application of an induction coil to heat the bolt prior to extraction.
I think guys forget to drop the E-brake and that jerk forward is breaking the bolts when its locked up. It's not that hard to get it out when setup correctly.
No reason for them to break other than carelessness. Many ebrakes are not properly setup. Here is a crappy iPhone video I did a while back that may help some:
Well, call me careless I guess. Mine were frozen into the plate. Heat, cold, solvents and numerous magical formulas did nothing. Eventfully one snapped off despite my best efforts to prevent it. Sucks.
