    Very nice work.

Amazing how much orange peel you see in a modern BMW 5. I was looking at a near-new 328 coupe in Monaco Blue that had a similar amount.

Wow, that is pretty awesome! Nice job! I'm not sure how much that kind of service would cost, but wouldn't be surprised if it was $2k if not more. Considering everything that was done, looks to be worth it (if you have the money of course ;)).

curious, is there not an inner fender cleaner or other that you all use? i hate dirty inner fenders and like them to shine when possible.

    thank you for your reponse.

Suddenly I don't feel so bad that my 6 year old truck has some oxidation on the hood. Amazing how dirty a car can get in a little time. Excellent work.

If it got a new owner, I hope you didn't show him the "before" shots :)

Even more amazing is how unbelieveably soft the paint is.

Stage 3: Clean all fender liners

All fender liners were removed and brought to our wash area to clean. A 50% water and 50% Malco outrageous orange mixture was applied and left on for 20 minutes to loosen and remove all contamination. Next, all liners were washed with straight water. The process was then repeated, but followed by scrubbing with a stiff horsehair brush to remove stubborn spots.

This is the process we used to clean m5 fender liners as well, they are then dressed with Malco prizm dressing.

Autoglym products were used on the leather and carpets, all surfaces scrubbed with a stiff horsehair brush.

No offense but for $2700, that is absurd. I've honestly seen better paint on Japanese Luxury cars recently. Even then, these new water based paints are terrible from the factory but there is simply no need to spend 54 hours on this type of job to achieve this result.

From another forum... this was a simple wash wax done by the owner in a couple hours:

Even Audi is starting to cheap out - I haven't seen an A5/S5 that didn't have shocking orange peel on the rear fender and lower door area, and that's a car ranging from $45-60k.

Very nice, no doubt the paint looks better than it did from the factory.

if the car didn't have that orange peel from the factory... the car would have needed a repaint, not just a light wet sanding.

Had he gone with a 1500 grit and then worked his way up to 3000 there would be little orange peel left... (I do not blame you for not using the 1500... your job is not to improve on the manufacturer paint quality but to restore it. Also you don't know if that thing has been painted and if so how much clear they used unless you are using a meter)
