I really enjoy watching the progress of projects from Bradan. I also believe that a sponsor can post most anything he likes, after all, it helps support having Ferrari Chat a viable source for us all to share in. But I think it would be more appropriate for Bradan to have their own Forum as do many other sponsors, in which to post his projects. since he is a commercial entity.

Just my opinion, fwiw, that the long development posts here in the 348/355 forums seeme to be more of an an advertising showcase more than a sharing of common ideas, knowledge, experiences and general forum mayhem.

    Jeff,

We were considering having our own forums when joining this site. Since for the next 6 months all of our products will be for the F355 it seemed like a waste. We also try to give as much information as possible in our posts to help all owners. Notice in our detailing thread we disclosed every method and chemical used.

I have really enjoyed reading the detailing thread, and I have to confess, I probably would never have seen it if it hadn't been right here in my "home" section.

FYI Sponsors have to pay more for their own forum, if just a few project threads, then a subforum probably doesn't make sense. The subforums work great for dealers that want to share a large inventory.

Although it is probably better to have a separate forum for this, I would have missed it...

Unfortunately my car has too many good sized chips to restore it in Bradan fashion...I'll need a respray eventually. It is nice to know what can be done though to help tired paint.

    I say keep it going.....
I enjoy seeing quality projects such as this develop.
Had it not been on here I doubt I would have seen it.
This is the forum I go to when it comes to anything relating to my car.
Its great to see new ideas and inovation for our beloved 355's.

I don't see the harm.......his work is "advertisement" enough....I appreciate his offering of their expertise, which others may view as proprietary information and be less forthcoming.

I agree. I've asked and seen a couple of questions from other members about the paint restoration process, all of which have seemingly been ignored by Bradan.

Very informative and inspiring....the photos and product guidance are very helpful. Wish we had a DIY sub-forum to capture this stuff.

    The difference, in my mind, is that they are showing how do do the work, what the work entails, the tools and products; and then the results. So enterprising people could do this to their own cars. This is more educational than advertising {although I will admit they will drag in business for preforming this public service.}

This is entirely different than advertising for (say) aspirin whre you can't possible have enough info to make the stuff, or advertising cars for similar reasons.

Well of course those of us on the East Coast are always eager for this kind of shop- A "Full Service" Ferrari specialist who can do exterior, interior and mechanical work- I mean- A shop with a dyno that's doing mod work- That's super rare in this part of the world- so Bravo.

I'm finding these posts to be very heavy handed advertising with lots of boastful "ad-Speak"- "Bespoke Interiors" and "World's premier Ferrari Tuning House" - when my brother-in-law on Long Island says this is a Toyota Supra specialist JUST getting into the Ferrari world.

So if they are EXPERTS then answer some of our questions in the posts- If they are a Supra specialist who purchased two auction Ferraris to show off their capabilites- fine.

Just like to know who and what we're dealing with here...

I actually look forward to viewing his threads--great pictures and write-ups--yes they are promoting their business--so what? They are sponsors of the site! I certainly wouldn't classify as spamming.

Please continue to post your progress, I love this stuff!

Interesting perspective. I've been wondering if this was the case.

They've been spending a lot of hours making the paint thinner and repainting the wheels (there are a lot of detail guys out there). So far I'm not seeing much else.

Let's get to the "meat" of the sandwich and see some of that World famous tuning. ;)

Settle down Francis.... I think I've been quite respectful but very skeptical. Not nice to come on the forum and start calling subscribed members names.

If you come on the forum as a commercial and make a lot of claims about your business- sponsor or not- I think since this forum is really about INFORMATION we should be informed. Guys like Rifledriver are wildly opinionated about stuff- and pull no punches- but have the experience and knowledge to back it up.

When Robbie talks about sticky parts we have HUNDREDS of his customers on the forum to vouch for the veracity of his statements. I am asking Bradan to post MORE, not less- I've seen lots of detail threads here- same for interior retrims- Obviously they are doing some nice work- but I'll ask it one more time... They claim to be "The world's premier Ferrari tuning house" - and if that is in fact the case I would think they would have no problem providing some detail regarding their experience, staff etc. There is ZERO on their website.

Perhaps this shop is new but has brought in some very experienced and well known techs- so let's hear about it! I'm saying this as a potential CUSTOMER rather than as a internet detective. I have some stuff I'd like done to my own 355 this coming Winter- and getting the car to L.I. is no problem for me.

But if they won't answer some fairly basic questions- like who are you, what is the background of your staff and what is your history with Fcars-I'm not sure these threads are worth a lot to potential paying customers like myself.

    Jay,

When we first opened, one of our techs came from a Turbo import background. He was very well known in the supra world and brought a backlog of work with him during our first 6 months. He is no longer with us and we no longer service his customers. During this time, we also serviced German cars and exotics. Our Dyno test cell and tuning ability attracts all makes and models. This includes engine management systems such as AEM, Motec, Pro EFI, LS edit, etc. This is just one of our services we are well known for locally.

Our main focus is the Ferrari market. We are developing both of ours cars to showcase our abilities. Over the next 6 months, we will be releasing many project posts and new products. Yes, they serve a commercial purpose and we pay as a sponsor for this privilege. On the other hand, we are providing a real time project development story that is educational and informative for the community.

Advertising is advertising. I'm sorry that our wording offends you. I personally do not agree that Burger King is the king of burgers, again thats just advertising for you haha. We do hope through our project posts and innovative products for Ferraris that we will gain the communities respect as a tuner. Tuning applies to modifications not general repair. There are some excellent techs on this site that we respect and do not wish to offend.

Its hard to answer each individual question as the thread is being updated live. We do apologize in advance. As stated though, we do intend to give a summary post once each project is finished addressing the main questions members have.

Daniel- The most important thing on FChat is what you learn through interaction with other FChatters. If there will be little interaction with you, your posts are much less useful. I still enjoy them, but with little interaction, I gain less information.

Also, if you misspeak in one of your posts and do not read or respond to an FChatter's correction, you also forego any learning you need as a new Ferrari shop.

    Daniel-

    Thanks for replying.

Believe me- I'm not offended- I just think it is NOT in your best interest to make such strong claims- Remember- almost every forum member here has been into fcars for some time now- and we all have our "guy" as well as one or two other shops we rely upon.

As a 355 owners I am terribly excited that there's someone who plans to introduce new products for a car that was discontinued 11 years ago.

I think as long as you're honest ,humble and REALLY good at what you do- you'll find a very receptive audience here.

I'm glad you decided to use a 355 for this project. I have learned a lot form your methodology that I would have otherwise not known about, were it not in the 355 section. I am also glad that you chose to share the entire process, as I am in Texas and would likely not ship my car to L.I. for a detail. That alone should earn you friends and followers here.

    Please keep posting and informing!!

I too am loving the posts, unfortunately it has been quite some time since a company has turned thier talents to modify the 355, understandably so as it is quite 'old' now and many people are unwilling to modify theirs.

I understand other members grievance with regards questions being left unanswered, most people posting such threads reply very quickly between updates, but if you are busy working on the final product then these answers can wait, I can see from these threads it will be worth it.

Is there any chance of you posting some pictures of the other Ferraris you have tuned and the parts you have produced so we can see what makes you "the world's premier tuning house"

    Keep up the good work.
