i have been searching for a decend and affordable way to make my maranello sound like a ferrari. since i live in switzerland where the police is VERY anal about after market parts I needed something that looks "stock" around and still sounds better than the original exhaust.

going through this forum i learned that straight pipes from bradan not only sound exellent but also have a positive effect on the cars power output.

thanks to bradan, only two days after I ordered the straight pipes they already arrived in switzerland and could mounted to my maranello.

Wow! now the car sounds like it should... louder and MUCH better than stock. i also tend to believe that the car runns much smoother in the mid range (3500 - 5'500rpm).

For switzerland I had to reattache the valves of the original exhaust - unfortunately.

I will let you have the fotos of our beautiful ride to "wäggis" with a 599 an older Aston and my 550..

    Cheers

Good to hear that you like the result! It's pretty impressive that the police can remember what a stock maranello exhaust looks like, and can tell the difference between stock and, say, a Tubi!

hmm, they don't remember on ferraris. they mostly look out for Scoobys and Evos. But if a car sounds loud they take you out, get under your car and see the "tubi" written on the muffler... friends of mine have paid fines over USD 5'000.- and had their licence taken for one month... not really what one is looking for...

Doesn't sound like a fun bunch of folks! I'd have lost my license a few times by now with my straight pipes and Tubis. It's really, really loud. It seems like the exhaust has "bedded in" a bit and is a tiny bit mellower now, but more likely I'm getting deaf. So I'm going to swap to a Xpipe, which I'm told should be a bit quieter but will offer less power.

There will not be much difference in noise level between straight and X-pipes.
