I just watched a video of a 612 getting detailed and they waxed the calipers. This is the first I have heard of doing this. What is the purpose and benefit of doing this? I'm not being critical I would just like to know for my own knowledge. Thanks.

I would assume this is done for the same reason that I wax my wheels. I've found that it makes rinsing awake brake dust a breeze!

Yes, that is why. I usually apply a ceramic/glass/nano coating to them. Holds up much better than any wax.

I use REJEX on my car and brake calipers. Brake dust hoses off. Let it sit over night and buff off the next day.

You need something with a high temp resistance to coat the brake calipers. Waxes dont hold up for very long.

Coating them will make cleaning a breeze, and keep them looking new!

Every wheel coating package I offer includes the brake calipers. It just completes the job.
