brake disk removal

The short of it :

remove the caliper. If it's on a flexible brake line, your 1/2 way home. if not, disconnect the brake line.
remove the two "alignment studs" on the front of the rotor
give a couple raps with a rubber hammer
It should wiggle right off.

 

Basically how I did it as well. Just remember to release the parking brake first.
