Today I fired up the Dino to find the brake failure warning light illuminated. Brakes work fine, fluid level seems fine and from what I can see the pads seem good. There is no leaking visible from the pressure regulator. Any ideas before I pull the wheels off?

If I recall correctly the balancing valve has a ball bearing, or some such device, that car get stuck, that'll set off the light.

Give the balancer a good rap with a screwdriver handle, that might just fix he problem by freeing it up.

Working off a four year old recollection of how we solved this problem once in my Dino. I may be full of ****. Perhaps one of the masters here can cofirm or deny my supposition.

The brake pressure warning light housing has a piston that is spring loaded to the center, which is the off position. When it is operating normally, unbalanced pressure between front and rear systems moves the piston to one side or the other and closes the switch. When the brakes are released and the pressure in both front and rear is released the piston should move back to center and open the switch, so the brake fail light should only be on when the brakes are applied. If the brake fail light is on whenever the ignition is on, it may be that the piston is stuck or the switch is bad. Just working off the odds, my guess is that the switch is bad.
