Is it normal for the Brake lights to only go on when the ignition is switched on? I have an '83 308.

Also, can anyone point me in the right direction of a link to bypass the rheostat? Can't seem to find it anywhere and my dashlights are dim at best.

    Much Appreciated.

I know it seems odd, but yes, that's the way it is designed.
