Gents, I'm reinstalling my master cylinder/booster (after a 7 month rebuild...) and I failed to mark the orientation of the two brake lines which connect to the master cylinder. One line feeds the front brakes, and one the rear brakes (I believe). Can anyone tell me about the driver vs. passenger side ports on the master cylinder should feed the front vs. rear brake circuits? (car us left hand drive)

    Thanks!

I'm guessing you ran new lines? On mine there would be no way to cross them up... not enough length on the pipe.

    Sorry can't help otherwise.

I see the mc installed dry. It’s unlikely you will be able to get working brakes in that condition. Typical easy install process is to have the lines all ready. You bench bleed the Mc plugging the outlets then mount and remove plugs and attach lines. Then you bleed the system

Thanks for the thoughts and agree I decided to roll the dice on no bench bleed - maybe I'll be kicking myself but I'm going at bleed with a motive pressure bleeder and using an assistant. The entire system is dry so I expect significant effort getting pedal.

I always forget that the 308 owners manual has so much good info but worth noting that diagram is inconsistent with how my 308 was plumbed from factory (diff pressure valve is shown reversed from actual - left side feeds rear, not right) but I tend to agree it doesnt really matter provided front and rear are kept as separate circuits

You'll need to bench bleed it, but you won't be able to actually do that "on the bench" you need to get one of the bench bleeder tools you can run while it's connected on the car.
