For the first 3 years i had my car i had zero brake noise. It was factory pads and rotors. When it was time to change the pads a year ago i went to EBC Yellowstuff on the existing rotors as they still had meat left and the car immediately developed a loud screech when slowing down under 10-15mph with light pressure. It drove me nuts but i lived with it.

I did a lot of canyon carving with fellow F-chatters over the last year and the front pads were done and all of the rotors needed to be replaced. I just installed all new factory straight from the dealer pads and rotors and liberally applied the supplied grease to the backings and followed Alduous voice instructions for install to a tee. I then proceeded to use the 60-20 10X increasing pressure bedding process he reccomends and on the 40 mile highway ride i took after all was well.

The next morning i met up with friends and we did a good 40 mins of canyon carving which surely heats up the brakes. Towards the end i started getting that dreaded same schrrech again. Only under light pressure. I hoped maybe they were just too hot and it would go away

This morning i took it 25 miles ot the beach. On the way there all noise was gone. No issues. This is jsut casual driving mainly highway. Upon leaving the beach, same type of driving the damn noise is back under light pressure when stopping.

I just did the bedding process again and will see this afternoon but why is this coming on like this and what can i do about it. It's driving me nuts. I spent the rediculous amount Ferrari charges for the pads $650+ just to ensure this damn noise would be gone.

    Please help!!

Quite possibly the pistons are sticking. Remove the calipers and check that the pistons can be retracted.

Well, it could be the pistons but since it comes and goes I suspect that it is the pads AND the conditions. Unfortunately, when you are driving slowly the pads and rotors do not vent as well as when moving along so you get heat and dust buildup in both. And remember, you will always trade one trait for another. If you want grip, you will pretty much have to deal with noise. Same goes for dust. To me, the ultimate combination was quiet and low dust. I mean if you really need performance bite then you are probably on track and screech doesn't matter at all. I went with Posiquiet ceramics on my 348 with liberal use of the antisqueal PASTE not grease ;) Grease goes on the sliders. AND make sure you have the pads oriented correctly. Stock Brembos have an offset shim that accounts for rotation and should jam into the caliper when rotating forward. If you have them reversed, they will have room to vibrate and give you squeal. Check them out, use paste and enjoy the quiet and low dust. ;) But hey, cruising around town, the lady will screech anyway because the dust is building up and it's a small price to pay for Ferrari awesomeness. But the ceramics should do it less.

I was in Montreal for the F1 race last weekend. At the Senna S we could smell the brake dust coming off those carbon rotors. Smelled like a train station, ;)

The factory bremos came with the paste you are referring too. I coated the entire back of the pad surfaces very liberally. I did not coat the pins...is that a source of issue?

I'm positive the pads are in correctly and i was able to move all caliper pistons in and out with ease when retracting them to replace the pads.

The sounded great until i took them canyon carving up in the L.A. mountains. It basically simulates a track environment as for 40 mins straight i had to be on the brakes every number of seconds. They started making this noise under light braking about 35 minutes into it.

Is there a chance i glazed the pads, etc. Can i get past that by just trying to rebed them with the 60 to 10 slowdowns X 10. I dont wantt o just abuse the brakes, i just did that process again this morning, then let it cool off and then parked it. I'll be taking it out this afternoon to see what i hear

Is this maybe just because everything is brand new and it needs time. I'm thinking not as it's ONLY when lightly braking at low speed........

    Really frustrated.

Still doing it after lunch today - any other ideas. I went all factory brembo to avoid this specific issue as the EBC yellow was terrible

It could be that the pad material is a bit harder than the OEM, and that will cause noise at low speeds.

Hard pads are always a problem. They create less dust but you pay the price with noise.

You could have a glaze on the pads.

You would have to remove them and then secure a 400 grit sandpaper and then, in same direction, move pads uniformly over the 400 paper lightly a few times

Run your fingers over the rotors as well to see if any grooves or buildup.

If so you will need to have the rotors turned slightly to smooth them.

These are brand new OEM rotors and pads, there are no grooves in the rotors. For the firs 5-10 minutes each day i drive they are quiet as can be then for the rest of the day the are super loud under 5-8 MPH with light load (coming to a stop basically at the VERY end for a second)

This now sounds like you are getting a pad chatter causing the noise.

You might need pad shims or a dampening material

Can you isolate if from front or rear or are they all squealing?
