Hello all, I am curious if anyone has purchased brake pads other than from the dealer. I had them change the fronts and rears last year, and am now told that they are recommending that I change the fronts again soon (just a few thousand miles later). As we know, they aren't cheap. Last year, it was around $3000 to have both sets changed. Wondering if there is a less costly option of where to purchase, especially since it seems like this is going to be a yearly item for me (I do mostly city/town driving with it, not any highway). I contacted Brembo directly, and they said the pads cannot be purchased direct from them; dealer only. Seems silly that the dealer would be the only place able to source brake pads for the car, but that's what its looking like so far. Any helpful information is very much appreciated. Thank you.

There are other places that sell OEM parts that you can purchase the pads and rotors from. But unless you have a chunk missing out of your front rotor I’d personally have a hard time believing that the CCB pads are that worn in only a few thousand miles unless of course you are tracking the car, a lot. I think I’d maybe get a second opinion or get the dealer to find and explain the problem to you since the pads are rather spendy

They simply showed me on the car how little pad life there is remaining. Like I said, a lot of city driving, I can't say that I'm easy on the brakes. The pads will probably last forever on a car that sees mostly highway. Looking for recommendations from anyone who has purchased brake pads, or other Ferrari maintenance items, from an aftermarket reseller or online store. Thanks.

I almost wonder if the brakes were changed the previous time they were supposed to change them. CCB don’t wear that quickly under normal driving conditions, they simply don’t get hot enough to wear that fast. And if they are wearing that fast and you are not tracking the car then there has to be a problem with the components causing premature wear.

He is talking about pads and not rotors!

CCM rotors do last quite long unless tracked.

Yeah but the pads should last longer then a few thousand miles. If that were the case Ferrari and everyone else that that uses CCB took a huge step backwards. The only reason I could think of for premature wear of a CCB pad is a damaged rotor or excessive heat.

You can measure the pads yourself. The pad begins after the metal backing plate.

But the pads have an electrical sensor which will alert a dash warning light when they are down to 3mm.
