At the brake master cylinder in an early Dino, "L" series, non USA, without the USA mandated tee with various sensors, DOES IT MATTER, which brake pipe goes into which outlet? Personally, I do not think so, but would prefer to have an opinion from someone that knows for a fact.

The pipe to the the rear compensator, in the farthest hole from the booster, or the nearest?
On the parts book, front, in the manual, the reverse. No help.

In the photos, the only known factor is what is there, as from another car, thus not visible
as could not cut up a hole to see what went where.

    Under the car, fairly clear.

The "Front Pipe From The MC", then splits to the two front calipers.

    Thank you.

The outlet that is closest to the booster goes to the front brake circuit. The outlet further away from the booster goes to the rear circuit. The reason for this is that the brake master cylinder has a larger stroke for the front circuit, as it needs more volume for the larger pistons used in the front brake calipers.

If you look as the distance between the fill/inlet ports and outlet ports on the brake master, you can see that it is smaller on the front of the master and larger on the rear (nearest the booster). This is the difference in the stroke of the pistons for the two circuits.

If you look at the owners manual, parts manual or repair manual for the car, the diagram for the brake pipe circuit layout is in all three.

I find many cars that have been "restored" that have the pipes routed the incorrect way.

    Brian,

Thank you very much, and you are absolutely right, as the logic is there!

On the parts book, Tav. 26, part 36, clearly says 'tubing from servo to depressor(balance valve)' and it is mounted up front in the M.C.

Except, that on the owner's manual, it is reversed unlike the parts book that has your point.

Bottom line, I seriously trust your knowledge and judgement much more...
