I’m about to fit a new master cylinder and brake booster to my 365. The access to the upper mounting nuts looks challenging, has anyone attempted this ? Should I remove the whole pedal assembly. Any advice appreciated.

I not long ago put mine in. I had to use a very very long extension to fit it aided by the dashboard not being fitted yet. Try a long 1/4 drive extension and possibly a wobble socket

It looks to me that the only proper way to do this is remove the whole pedal set as an assembly. So, air box off, rear carb off, pedal pads off and see if the whole lot will come out through the bulkhead

Somehow I missed your reply. How did you go getting it out? I'm interested to hear of other experiences.

This is as much for my own future reference as it is for anyone else reading. I can confirm having removed and installed another booster on a friends car this week, that you don't need to take out the whole pedal box. It's not a comfortable job by any means. Front seat was removed, and the large clutch pedal spring by the bonnet latch handle. The rest is lying on the floor to remove the split pins for the pedal clevis pins, the lower nuts are easily removed with a 13mm socket, one upper nut is accessible with a little contortion, and the other nut was removed and installed with the long 1/4 drive extension, as I previously mentioned above. Aside from those steps, the other obvious things to disconnect are the hardlines into the master cylinder, the vacuum fitting, and the reservoir. I also sucked the fluid down through the adjacent brake caliper to cut down on fluid mess. Looks like I'll be doing it again in the near future :(
