A dealer has told me that the brakes that were included as part of the Fiorano Handling Package on the 575M squeal like a banshee. Based on what I have heard from others, I have gathered that it is a known issue and not an isolated/occasional thing.

Can anyone tell me how they have managed to deal with the issue? Did you change pads, or is the squealing not as bad as some would suggest? If you changed pads, how much did it cost, parts and labor?

    Thanks-
    Vic

My car has the package and I was unaware that the brakes were even part of the package. Both my 360's squealed at time, a heavy foot on the brake would usually get rid of it. My 575 is not as bad, not sure why a dealer would say that.

My '03 575 w/Fiorano squealed at almost every brake application. A change of pads cleared up the problem.

The pads in the FHP are Pagid's. The service bulletin describing the kit clearly states this as a known problem, with no known rectification apart from replacement, although I have seen from past searches on the board here, that bevelling the edges of the pads seems to help.

It is not a problem. All higher performance pads squeal. Ferrari provided an alternative for those who would rather have quieter pads.

"It is not a problem. All higher performance pads squeal."

That's actually a very good point, we can't fairly call it a problem. I went to the softer compound pad on my 575 and of course noticed no performance difference at all in braking in street use (I never tracked the car).

I once greatly annoyed my wife by putting Pagids on her 911 when it needed new pads. Not amused, she was.

Porterfield R4-S pads are what you want for low dust, no squeal, "spirited" street driving. We stock them as do others. We've sold them to a number of Ferrarichatters and all have been pleased.
