Can someone tell me the function of the valve in the brake circuit? I have been told that all it does is to turn the warning light on when the pressure fails. But I suspect it has other functions. After all, the dang thing costs four figures so it has to be more than just a pressure sensor.

Front seperating valve devides rear from the front circuit. If there is a difference of pressure between front and rear, the warning light goes on.
Rear pressure valve : makes that only a certain percentage of the pressure goes to the rear brakes....prevents blocking of the rear wheels when pushing hard on the brake pedal.
