    Folks -

First of 2 brand-new, never-used, official Sabelt seats from a 2014 458 Challenge car. The car was delivered with these seats (covered in delivery plastic), we immediately replaced them with different seats and stored them.

Current FIA spec, perfectly clean, brand new. Will get some additional pics posted. They are located in Miami at the shop

Correct, they are XL as marked. Bear in mind these are one-piece race seats, so a bit snug by definition. Using an XL allows you to pour a custom insert. It's essentially been the same seat style in 360C/430C/458C, albeit the construction has evolved.

Will the second seat be available to the buyer at the same price as the first?

I have both seats and ideally would prefer to sell both together. However, and candidly, my previous sale attempts have resulted in goat rodeos!

I think a used/dirty set sold here a few weeks back for $2K, so we thought let's test and auction 1 and see what happens.

These are essentially the Sabelt GT-600 seat (FIA, carbon fiber), albeit with the official Ferrari horse embroidered. New list prices are $2500 or so, looks like you can get an OEM from Eurospares for approx $3100/per seat. Just looking for a fair price.

Open to offers on the pair, please PM.

I prefer to use "HALO" seats, with wrap-around coverage for your head to increase side protection.

So among the very first things the team did was remove the seats to install the interior nets, radios, etc, so they stayed wrapped up and went into the boxes.

Which Halo seat did you use and did you install sliders? I'm wrestling with a similar install issue on my 430C, wanting the Halo instead of the Sabelt, but exiting the car is challenging with the roll bar configuration and a fixed seat. We tried sliders but could not get the seat low enough to avoid my helmet hitting the top. And I'm only 5'9"!

    How did you do things?

    hey Rob

We used the Sabelt ST-300, primarily because the series "requires" Sabelt, the seats fit the car and me, and we got a killer deal. Again, they are essentially the same as the new (expensive) OEM Ferrari version without the Ferrari labels and horses. However, I'm sure the Recaro or Sparcos would fit the car.

We did mount on sliders, and it's tricky to get in/out. A number of the taller/larger drivers literally could not make the HALO seat work due to the head bolster and cage down tube/gusset.

For my seat, the team modified the mounting so it sits (literally) as low as it can get in the car and still slide, and I don't use the bottom pad. I'm 5-10, but I'm a fire hydrant shape, so I had to perfect my technique for easy ingress and rapid egress. It's actually pretty easy now, though I may not win style points. I do not have to remove the wheel, but I do need the seat all the way back. When seated, I have some (not a lot) of clearance from the cage on the left side of my head - which has nothing to do with the HALO bolster, more to do with the size of my noggin.

BTW last year IMSA mandated the interior triangular restraint nets (left and right side), which the nets are annoying to deal with, they do help safety factor a lot.
