Yes, I do like that car too, I always wanted to have that, but at that prices, i think I won't, I could get a Sheby Gt500, for a better price and it's higher on my list.

A friend of mine had GNX #021 at his dealership back in the late 80's, they wanted some close to that if I'm not mistaken. let's just say it sat for almost a year until sold.

Do these people know you could get a 355 for that much money?

    Or a 456? Pristine TR?

    Ferrari? Or the Buick? Hmm...

Since its still on the C of O (cert of origin) doesn't that mean the full factory warranty applies to the purchaser?

Yep........ Very rare car indeed. I remember living up in PA when they came out, and saw one that was bought, and immediately placed-on-ice. It sat in the an open 1-car showroom. Quite a potent V6.........(as for warranty, its like
anything else based on miles and years.......so that has zero)

There were 547 GNX's made. Car #547, numbered by a dash plaque just sold for $150,000. Oddly by VIN # it is the third from last GNX built.

The previous owner of 547 also owned the car that sold for $76,499 mentioned above with the ebay link (I think it was car #474).

Bob, but the car was never put into "service" as they say in the car business because it has never been titled or sold as it is still on the C of O meaning it has been on the dealers floor plan the whole time. Only a dealer can have a car on a C of O.

Yes but the GNX will go up in value forever. The 355 won't. That GNX will be worth ten times what a 355 will be worth in 20 years.

I rode in a pre-production car to my freshman year homecomming dance...extremely fast for a 6 cyl.

however, $80 GRAND!! Woof, thats a lot for a Buick.

I thought it was ugly when I first saw it, and still do.

I would not pay $800 let alone $80k.

My best friend has a Buick T-Type. Crazy car. A few weeks ago we turned up the boost too high (19 iirc) while "testing" and the vacuum hose disconnected and the turbo spun a bearing. He got it back last week (engine had a lot of work) and the engine looks brand new. He can only drive with 10psi right now (needs to put 1500mi on the engine) but after that i can't wait to ride in it again. The acceleration is just awesome. The turbo lag is crazy though.

I think 80k IS a fair price for this car. The muscle car market has been exploding for over 10 years now and shows no sign of slowing. The prices of these will continue to appreciate.

I personally don't think it'll (muscle car market) last. I'll give it 2-3 years. These kinds of cars will, however, appreciate, but will appreciate steadily and not shoot up like some of the other cars.

People said the same thing about real estate 3 years ago.

  21. The GNX is not the same car as the common GN. It's a car far faster than most things put on this planet. It's not me, but it is a beast. 80k, well it's only a factory workers gross pay for the year.

I'd be embarrassed to tell anyone I was collecting 1987 Buicks.

"It may look like a $1200 black Regal, and the interior is kind of like an $800 J-car, but this one's much faster and rare."

Shelby GT350 = cool car. '60s Corvette = cool car. Buick Regal... um.

Nah, these things were pretty special. I owned 2 GNs, bought them both brand spanking new back in 86 and 87. They were the fastest things around then (except for maybe the 911T). I could tell you some GREAT street racing stories I experienced in my GNs back then. Fact was, no one had a clue as to what they were until maybe 1988. Mustang and Vette drivers were totally confused when they'd get their a$$es smoked by these things. Priceless. I wish I had filmed it.

I've said it a million times over the past two years - buy a decent GNX and just put it on blocks for another 10 years. It'll be worth a fortune.
