What the feeling about creating and building a new 60s-era sports coupe. All the soul and passion and handcraft in a bepoke new vehicle. 12 cyl, 6 speed, hand formed aluminum coachwork, etc. Are there any folks who've attempted this?

Another GTE gave up it's engine, it looks like...

How do these guys get around emission and safety regulations, anyway? Or is it somehow registered as a "1963" vehicle?

It is what the California should have been. 4.0 V-12, 6 speed standard, paddle shifter optional (BUT discouraged), lightweight as possible, coupe and/or cabriolet, maximized for handling and all-round driveability.

In states like Massachusetts and California it's all predicated on the number and date of the engine block. If that engine block is a 1963 GTE and the number can be verified the car is then listed as a 1963 Ferrari GTE and no emissions testing is required. My Cal Spyder kit car is listed in Mass. as a 1966 Ford Mustang and so no emissions testing required. just one man's opinion tongascrew
