A few things. I've always had the bug for circuits since going to race school at Oulton Park about 10 years ago. Probably not going to get a better chance to drive a decent car around a circuit and Brands is so close. It'll be nice to give the new exhaust a good blast too Andy furnishing me with some decent brake pads finally swung it. Cheers Andy Am intending to pay on the day just in case it's wet, in which case I may have second thoughts
Bumped thread to see who is going? Any idea on weather? If not booked in for lunch with FOC what other food - if any - is available at Brands or near by? Cheers Kevan
Ye gods! Fchat has stayed up ong enough for me to post! Big thanks to Andy, Joe, Graham and Geoff for taking me for a spin around the circuit. Great stuff. Andat last I have, on film, the humungous flames that erupt from the rear of Andy's Tubi!
Yep fantastic day's entertainment. Thanks to Andy, Joe & Paul for the lifts round. Andy's car is stunningly quick and so full on and focused. It's a revelation! What can I say about Joe'c Cs that hasn't already been said. It's just so poised and well balanced it defies belief. And it growls like a dog that hasn't been fed for a week! I've just got to have one.
Good to see all you guys today, it was areally good one. Hats off to Paul and Graham who i thought done a great job of their first trackday. Hats of to you two!!!!!!!!
What a great day! Had some really good laps towards the end of the day that I even surprised myself how hard these cars can be pushed through the corners. I still even have a few millimetres of tread left on the tyres as well! Graham - I hope I didnt scare you too much Joe - I think both Graham and I had a little bit of an advantage as Graham had a bit of previous experience with race school at Oulton Park albeit 10 years ago and I had a quite a bit of motocross racing experience about 20 years ago!! Mind you its a bit different driving on tarmac on 4 wheels!!! (or two in certain places !!) Paul
Didn't scare me at all. I was well impressed with your lines and it was a joy to behold for those few laps where you nailed every single corner spot on. Those instructors are superb. I went with Mike Reeder for a couple of sessions and it was an absolute godsend. He's a very talented instructor and I couldn't believe I was flooring it all the way round(albeit in the wrong gear mostly!) after just a few laps with him. If I'd had the confidence to jump on the brakes more, rather than backing off the throttle early, it would have been even better. Ooh what a day. I'm buzzing
Joe what you doing on here - you told me you were banned Nice to meet a few more Fchatters today - chickened out on taking the Fcar on the track I'm afraid - despite all Andy's great advice. Why is it always easier said than done? Have to say I felt a bit like the poor relation today - as I am pretty sure I was the only Mondial owner at Brands! Mind you there was a 400 on the track - who was giving it plenty. Perhaps I need to move oop Norf yung Steve! Either that or get me self a decent 12 cyinder Fcar Have to say in all sincerity that the look on Graham's face when it finally all came together was well worth going half way to Brighton on the way home - Oooooops did I say that out loud - Now you know why I left early and normally drive a Merc with Sat Nav. Cheers Kevan Still got a huge grin on my face from today PS Thanks Stig for directions there - Hope Paul said Cheerio from me.

Many thanks Graham, Grinning from ear to ear and iching for more track action, I think im going to invest in new wheels and a set of slicks ..
What a great day. Memories include:- A great bunch of ordinary blokes enjoying their, hard worked for, cars to the limit. Andy's flame outs into paddock An F40 blowing a turbo as he came out of Clearways and then carrying on right round Paddock, Druids and finally pulling off at Graham Hill Bend Personally getting braver every lap through Dingle Dell using every bit of the tarmac The prat in the 360 Challenge car who lost it, on cold tyres, in the pit exit road, hitting the barriers and dumping oil everywhere. The 308 that did the 360 degree spin coming out of Clearways right in front of me. The 360 Challenge car that went off at Graham Hill Bend in front of me. Was it the sight of me behind them? Brian Page, in his 328GTS Classic series car, opposite locking it through Clearways chasing an F40 that was "holding him up in the corners" I have some pics but cannot downsize them to post them. Can anyone help?
Chris, right click and save your pics to desktop on your PC. Then right click on the pic and send as email .Windows should offer to resize pics for you before sending. If all else fails, mail to me at [email protected].
Tony Memory card will not download via the control centre, my normal way, will try again tonight after Ikea trip. Penance for the track day? Steve I am going to use a man to do a man's job.
Chris Yes - a great day - and thanks to Joe for a stunning couple of laps in his CS. I've had rides in most Ferraris (exlcuding F40's as I am unfortunately too large to fit in) and as I said to Joe - the CS ride was neck and neck with the F50 ride I had round Brands last year. Absolutely gobsmacking the capability of the car. I meant to ask you Joe - what mode did you have it set on? Anyway Chris - to be fair - Stewart Ross who sadly had his turbo blow - sensibly drove it till he found a grassy bit close to a fire marshall. Not very clever to stop and see the rear of the car burst into flames with no fire marshalls in site. As I understand it there was no oil left on the track. And poor David Michel - he's far from being a pratt. In case you didn't know, his onboard fire extinguisher had earlier gone off. He thought he'd managed to clear up everything - but apparently not. As soon as he put his foot done the car would only steer in one direction - left into the barrier. Just to introduce myself - as I've lurked here for too long with just an occasional post. I'm one of the PHR members who spend our time trying to keep you safe and honest during the track days. My particular bit is ensuring you've got an extinguisher and tow hook (where needed) so I've probably met all you FOC track day guys without knowing it. I'm the rather large one with white hair normally with the clip board. Not always easy to say hello when we've got a queue but I have now got to know a few of you A quick plug here I had been a non active member of the PHR for quite some years. I responded to an appeal in the FOC magazine a couple of years ago for more volunteers. Well - it's been a blast. I've made a lot of friends - had a lot of fun - and have met a lot of you. Can I just tell you. The FOC is a club. A club is what its members make of it. That's all. I enjoy this club. It's well run - it's active - and it works at all levels. I have made friends at track days, Concours and at local area (Thames Valley) level. I saw a lot of happy faces at Brands yesterday. I'm glad I'm a member
Hi FrancisN, I did thank Derek Seymour of PHR as I left and I thank you and your colleagues for all your efforts at the track days, concourse etc. particularly for the anti rain dances you have done this year. Despite what some Fchatters say the FOC is a bunch of friendly like minded individuals as witnessed yesterday. I still don't see how the mess from an internal fire extinguisher going off makes you unable to steer but I am glad it was not me.
Francisn I endorse everthing you have said and without you and the other PHR members turning out on trackdays giving your time free of charge to help with the smooth running of the event there would fewer days and they would be more expensive PHR members also turn out at concours hillclimbes and NEC car shows and PMFC race days You guys are a credit to the Ferrari Owners Club RAY FERGUSON
Hi Chris No offence intended - and thanks for your thanks to Derek. If we didn't enjoy looking after you all - we wouldn't do it And you give us some great rides Thanks
I would like to thank all the subscried fchat members for keeping this website going for the likes of fergy who wont pay you guys are a credit to fchat
Oh shucks Ray - all embarrassed But thanks anyway. And I do virtually nothing compared to many of the guys. Anyway - here's a couple of pics of Joe doing his stuff in his CS - my new favourite car. And yes - they'r meant to be blurred - it's the artistic effect!! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
