Keep your cool, one and all.

Hamilton and Massa battled it out like champions. We've made it through the entire season without any massive blowups in here, let's make it through the last weekend alive, ok?

    +1,000,000!

Problem is, that Bernie and Max still think they were right in manipulating the championship: They got one of the most exciting championship finales ever. So yes, for the show it was the best, but luckily today the sport won.

    Congratulations Lewis!

The torch has been passed from Schumacher to the next multiple WDC in the making!

Massa is a class act!, Ferrari is still champion, Vettel is the next driver to watch, what a nail biter. Too bad McLaren had to mull around in the back, It kinda of makes Hami championship seem a little empty, it would have been nice to see the two drivers really fight it out, to think he almost blew it is amazing. 2009 is just around the corner.

Glock didn't lose grip, at least I didn't see it. I've seen many drivers lose grip in that turn and Glock didn't follow suit at all. It looked like he pulled up lame, I didn't see the back end kick out and I didn't see the front wheels see saw back and forth {him trying to settle the car}. He must have had an issue with the car or he let Hami by. Either way it's a bit heart breaking but the correct man won the WDC this year. The FIA stacked the deck against him and he still won.

Last year he was the unlucky guy and now even with the FIA pushing against him, he still won. I would say he is the hardest driver this year, he battled on and off the track and had no defence for the off track battle, no way to gain ground, so he deserves to win 100%.

Congrats Hamilton, I hope next year you have a shot at holding onto your title fair and square.

Last minute new : Hamilton took 20 seconds penalty to have NOT put his steering wheel !!! He lost the championship !!!

Of course, it's a joke but regarding all this boring year (poor FIA !!), it could have been true !!

Massa deserved? Who actually deserves it? Hamiltion had the force of the FIA dragging him down, Massa didn't. Massa has been in a Ferrari for a long time now, he's come this close, maybe next year.

Maybe you should check the results, LH did not win this race. Second, MB and toyota are working together in 09 and oh yea, from the 2nd to last turn to the last turn, it must have down poured a ton more in that split second to prevent glock from going fast. I like LH and love to watch him race, but sad way to win the WDC. I expected him to win prior to the rain but the move by glock raises the question because of the circumstances, that's all.

The Final corner, on the Final lap, of the Final race......... ARRGG!!!

I realize Glock was still running slicks, but have "gave" the position to Hamilton by moving out of the way. It did not look like he lost grip, IMO.

This GP proved that Hamilton and Massa eventually reached WDC level. Bravo to Lewis and Felipe for a great race.

Nail on the head as usual, Andreas. The problem will be that now Bernie and Max have "proof" that manipulating the championship is always a good thing. It worked out well last year, and it worked out well this year.

As for the torch, I could not agree more. Ron thought it was passed to Massa... turns out it went right over his head to Hamilton. And so ends all the silly commentary like...

-You can't compare Hammy to Schumi, because he's never won a WDC (yes he has)
-Hamilton may be a WDC winner some day but he's too green (no he's not)
-Hammy is not on the top 6 drivers (yes he is, he beat them all, despite FIA manipulation)

A righteous result, to be sure. It would have been very very bad if Hamilton hadn't won today. He really does remind me of Schumi... winning and losing by the closest of margins. He did very well. So did Massa, but Lewis absolutely deserved this one more than anyone else.

While I agree, many on here don't understand that concept. Sadly.

Now it is a mood point, but had Massa won, they would have fully claimed this to be a worthy title.

Congrats to Lewis. However, i was in euphoria for 10 s thinking Massa is winner. Still dont know what happened to Glock, did not see anything watching only Vettel.

I think in the interviews presently taking place, Massa said it most eolquently and everyone should take what he said and go with it. He said it's racing and sometimes you have a perfect year and some times you have ups and downs .. that's racing and you take it. Sometimes things don't happen the way you want...that's just racing..be happy with constructor's championship. I know how to win and I know how to loose...part of our life...he congratulated Lewis for a great year...WHAT A GUY!

(he definitely puts some folks on this forum to shame with their comments!!)

Sam Posey did yet another fantastic epilogue at the end of the race. (What a beginning to the NASCAR race - quite the spoof on the upcoming elections - that person who came up with that commercial is fantastic!)
