OK, so I know why they didn't show up to the first race with sponsors galore. But why wouldn't Brawn have attracted some more sponsors by now? It's clear that they're going to receive plenty of camera time. Does anyone know, are they trying to find sponsorship, or is there something else to the team's structure that hasn't necessitated finding capital. I haven't heard any announcements about sponsors getting on board, unless I missed something. I mean, how are they working towards 2010? Prize money?

Existing contracts would be hard to just break up in the middle of the season. There is a limited pool of sponsorship players, but I am sure some of the whales will be lining up at the door if they conclude the season like they started it.

Maybe even Honda? - JUST KIDDING!!!

The funny thing is I heard that Branson will most likely not be sponsoring them due to costs. Boy did they get the deal of the century by paying $250,000 a race to have the Virgin Logo on the Front of that car.

I noticed a "migfx" advertising logo on the Brawn race suits. It was not there in Australia.

Also, it just might be my imagination, but the "Virgin" logo seems to have gotten bigger since the first race.

I'am hoping, thinking that Ross has a few lined up, and is considering the best, at this present moment.

I've been asking this for a while now. As each race passes the amount of TV exposure lessens and sponsorship becomes less valuable.
On top of that Brawn is gonna need some big bucks to resign Jason.

They have had offers but Richard Branson keeps putting off signing them for the main sponsor, mean while other companies have come forward and said we want to sponsor you but Brawn are waiting for Branson to do something.

FYI: It was in the paper.... probably not the whole thing but thats the jist of it as far as i can remember.

250 grand for a spot on the car? Hell if I had millions I'd put my face on the car. Anyone else want to put the FChat logo on the car? :)

With the costs associated with running a F1 team how can Brawn "put off" potential sponsors? If Virgin is only kicking in $250k a race then Brawn is bleeding money. You'd think they would at least try to get a second sponsor to bring in another $250k per race. Doesn't it cost at least $50 million a year to run one of the small teams?

Because when they negotiated the buyout from Honda, Honda agreed to foot the bill for this season. They don't even need the Virgin Sponsorship this season. But I guess every little bit helps.

If I was Dr. M, it would take me all of three seconds to kill development on the VJMO2, wind down the team to bare bones (or sell it to one of the new minnows ie; ProDrive, Epsilon, etc.), and splash 'Kingfisher' over the Great Whites for the rest of 2009.

:D I guess it's a good job you're not Dr. M then...... He's not there to promote "Kingfisher", he's there, IMHO, because he's enjoying himself. How long that will continue (and his pockets remain deep enough of course) remains to be seen. [See - Paul Stoddart, Eddie Jordan et al.....]

I also understand Honda's $ are pretty much funding the "Great Whites" (nice one, Is!) for now. Also, apparently, Ross had sponsors wooing *him* in Monaco - He wasn't out with the hat!..... Good for them - Their value's gotta be increasing...

    Cheers,
    Ian

To those who question Sir Richard's position with the Brawn team, you simply underestimate his negotiation skills. He'll get every thing he wants. To the doubters, please take a look at his amazing track record. It'll be Sir Richard's way or the highway.
