I disagree. F1 drivers don't get sickdays and they don't have the option to not drive if they don't feel like it. Quitting isn't an option unless both sides agree.

I've got a hunch Ross showed Rubens his contract and poured him a gigantic glass of STFU to go with it.

That Rubens didn't put his money where his mouth is neither proves nor disproves the presence of team orders.

    +1, but ...

Again can we all on this site please stop these rediculous comments that McLaren do not do team orders. We know they do from the Prost/Senna times, we know they do from the Hakkinen/Coulthard times. Coulthard has 100% confirmed that there were team orders.

So again please, they do not just let the drivers race each other at all. They are no different to any other team.

    +1.

Correct but he also had to race against the team, especially once the BS started and McLaren openly wished he was not there.

Still stupid of McLaren, with a little more support Alonso would have won and LH second, and then LH would have won the next year and probably for a few years on the trot as he matured to a better driver than he is now, and the team stabilised. The decision to not support Alonso as a 2 time WC made no sense and is just bad management. But McLaren have done it before with Prost versus Senna ...

I don't think Ross rates Kimi highly enough as an all round package to justify the expense, especially when it comes to car development. Schumacher: definately, Alonso:maybe at a push, Kimi: no, too many off days.

Plus, based on reports of what Kimi is demanding, I think Brawn would end up with only one car on the grid.
