According to the article it is Tombasis.

It sounds a bit like whining to me: I see how an aerodynamicist can take a bunch of know how from Ferrari to Mc Laren. But to claim that he took all the processes of how to run a successful F1 team with him to Mc Laren is a bit silly. Mc Laren know very well how to set up a successful team.

It is not an official press statement made by Scuderia Ferrari so I do not think it holds much validity. The quote is from some random website in South Africa and has not been reported on "popular" news media or mainstream F1 websites.

Ross Brawn is last person in the Ferrari team to make excuses. I have great respect for him and highly doubt he would complain after being champions 6 years in a row! :)

It does, doesn't it. This is just part of F1, I guess he forgot that it wasn't long ago when Ferrari transplanted the Bennetton team into their own. Wondering who Ferrari will be tapping into during this off season.

It does strike me as odd, that somebody as grounded as Brawn would be such a whiner. Maybe there is an issue with the validity as you say.

What strikes me as particularly weird is the transfer of culture to McLaren. I mean if the engineer would have gone to Jordan or Minardi, I can easily see how he could teach them to read and write. But McLaren does know how to run a team. All they needed was a better car.

Actually I hope the whining part of this story is not true. If it is, it would be a bad sign for the Scuderia. It would mean that even their strongest pillar is becoming unglued because of the recent events.

I am currently travelling in the UAE and was watching TV coverage of the Turkish GP here in the hotel. There was a post race interview with Ross Brawn.

All he had to say was that the championship is not yet over for Ferrari and Michael schumacher. Strongest pillar unglued... hardly! ;)

I read it as more a statement of fact rather than whining. What he says is true. However the movement of engineers and aero people can flop too such as we saw with Williams and the woman aerodynamicist that was let go with the walrus tusk nose. If Tombasis was with Ferrari for a long time can you imagine the brains he's picked and then packed his bags. Brawn has never been known to be a whinier and I don't think he's starting now.

That article is awful thin on content. However the reality of Brawn's situation is that this season is looking like the beginning of a downturn in Ferrari's fortunes in F1. For those who may be leaving next year, that might be hard to take.
