All this flash for a non-race. We have to consider Ferrari retired for the season. Mercedes is the only one with a reason to spend money...P2 in the constructors championship.
Actually there are other battles for WCC points: Sauber vs the rest and McLaren vs Alpine This race does matter to the bottom line of many teams. And Max gets a chance to set new records as well while Lewis is trying hard to have a season without a win (would be his first and only ever).
Louis will get his win this year, even if the FIA and F1 have to disqualify every other car on the grid.
Thank you for this explanation. The first thing that came to my mind was that the shadow had to be Zorro... Image Unavailable, Please Login
So mercedes with yet more updates on the car, front wing endplates and brake duct winglets. I'm sure Toto's minions will be instructed they didn't overspend. What a joke.
Tomorrow's sprint...Sainz is 8th and Charles is 10th. Ferrari will have them both start of the hard compound so that after penalties, Carlos will start 12th and Charles 9th. And they will take each other out on lap 7. What a great season.
Red Bull found guilty of overspending and you say no big deal. Mercedes are not found guilty and you complain. Stand on something man, stop flip flopping.
If the upgrades work they work, that's not my issue... My issue is, 4 major upgrades, significant crashes...and we're meant to believe that they're under the budget cap? Far more upgrades and large ones at that than RB last year. I don't buy it.
Next year the FIA will check the financial books of this year. Let's wait and see how much Mercedes F1 claims to have spent in 2022. Maybe all those updates are designed and built for free by enthusiastic volunteers in their own private workplace and then donated to the team
