    Hi all,

Well I'm having my doubts about buying a model. I have to decide between a 250 GTO Breadvan 1:18 (saw it here on the F-Chat somewhere) or the Tamiya F50 1:12. What are your thoughts??

    Thnx for help!!

Do you have a source on the Breadvan..? I've got the Tamiya F50, it's pretty nice... not a detailed at the Tamiya Enzo or Kyosho F40 in 1:12 though.

Im looking for the Breadvan too so if anyone has a source please let us know.
I have 10 1:12 models and the Tamiya Enzo is the best in my opinion.
I picked up the Kyosho Lamborghini Countach 400 in 1:12 the other day
and it runs the Enzo a close second!

No Breadvan models were ever officially made in scale other than 1:43. Everything made in larger scale was pretty much homemade. I have seen many different takes on the model, but never in person. Most are based on Bburago's 250 GTO and don't look that great.
I would just go with the Tamiya F50. The engine bay on it may not look impressive compared to the Enzo, but it is pretty much the same story on the real cars. There is just not that much going on in the real engine bay of an F50 either. However the model displays great and if you have the F40 and the Enzo in 1:12, then the F50 is a must.

What is an absolute must have, is the Kyosho F40 in 1:12. I would search for that one first.

Agreed... if I only had the Enzo, I'd be after the F40 before the F50... It's just a better model, hands down.

The pictures of the model on this website are pretty limited and I believe that it is with a good purpose. To hide the shortcomings of the model. I believe that it is based on the Bburago 250 Gto and then modified. This is the mistake that everyone is making when trying to recreate this car. The original is based on a 250 SWB and the lines on it are much lower and sleeker than the 250 GTO. For anyone to make this model they need to build the whole body from scratch, not base it on a GTO.
This is totally up to you, but I would not get this model. It looks like it has many many mistakes and poor quality. If it was $50 I could look the other way and have something unique, but it is the same price as a 250SWB from CMC, which in my opinion is THE BEST model ever made in 1:18 to this date.

I couldn't agree more (aside from the CMC SWB vs. BBR 375+, I'm still on the fence). They show 3 versions of the Breadvan on the site, all of which are HORRIBLY done. The entire nose is too short, the wing mirrors are missing, and the snout is also WAY too short. The large openings in the middle of the nose are WAY off. The rear doesn't have the "ridge" around the edge. Nor does it have the "bend" towards the bottom that runs the width of the car. There are just so many inaccuracies that shouldn't be there on a model of such cost. Attached are a couple of pics I took of it in 2005 @ Monterey (before it went back across the pond and got its nose job). Currently it has it's historically accurate LeMans nose back on (which is still steeper, and longer than a GTO).

    hi roy
i have seen the model built, when i was away last year in a shop at european gp,
it is based on the 250gto bburago model, and its not worth the money i think
because the shape is not right, and the overall finish is not great,
lucky is right in what he said it would be better to build up from scratch with the right
dimensions for the model to look spot on.
thats my 2 cents worth, dont buy
the gt enzo has been sent back, and 250 swb on the way

Can you post some pics of the Countach? I'm a real Lambo fan and would like to see some more detailed pics of this model.

    Thanks
