Looking at buying my first Ferrari. Probably a 360 spyder or a 430 coupe. I typically go on a couple of long road trips each year with my sports cars. Usually these trips are 3 or 4 thousand miles. Typically back roads from like Minneapolis to Knoxville. With past Porsches and current corvette breakdowns can be taken care of by calling a nearby dealer. How is this handled with a Ferrari. I assume I just use my regular AAA and request a flatbed then rent a car. Having a breakdown in the hills of West Virginia or Southern Indiania is never fun.

Thanks to everyone on this site. I am on here 5 or 6 days a week and have been for over a year. Very good info and entertainment. On a side note I have a ZR1 ordered to rerplace my current ZO6 but they do not get me excited like the photo of almost any Ferrari.

The process would be as you describe. Call AAA and have them take it to the nearest (near is a relative term!) dealer.

    Clay,

When you get your ZR-1, I'm sure everyone here will be eager to hear your driving impressions. So in addition to posting some pix of that bad-boy, definitely let us know how you like the car and, should you get your Ferrari, how it compares.

Good luck to you on your trip. One thing you should do is to understand where, along your trip route, there are Ferrari Dealers and/or Ferrari-Certified dealers.

One way to find these locations is to post a question in each region of your trip on F-Chat. Local knowledge is really important when it comes to trusting your car to someone.

I would highly recommend a tire plug kit (available at any auto parts store) and a small compressor which plugs into the cigarette lighter.

    Have fun , Frank
